Collectible toys from the 1950’s were without a doubt, so of the greatest ways to spend good quality, family time for many hours a night during this time period. A lot of the toys were geared towards young children, though a lot of toys were great for all members of the family, including the adults.

Collectible toys from the 1970’s consist of some of the toys that many kids still play with today. Although the quality and appeal of the toys today are much improved, many were derived from those created in the 1970’s such as Strawberry Shortcake, Evil Knievel, Star Wars action figures, and Barbie Dolls are all samples of the more popular 1970’s collectible toys.

Collectible toy mechanical banks were some of the most complex banks and were generally made out of cast iron steel. These really were produced in great quantities from about 1870 all the way to 1930. Two of the more popular manufacturers of these toy mechanical banks were W.J. Shepard, and the Stevens Firm.

Collectible toys from the 1980’s have just recently become very collectible among avid toy collectors in the world. The 80’s was sort of an awkward time for toy producers because of the high success of those from the 1970’s. There were many toys produced that never quite hit the market with a bang, though there were some that did have success and are now highly sought after items.

Collectible toys from the 1960’s have taken a rise in interest in many collectors all around the globe and collectible exhibits, as well. Wooden toys such as trucks and cars remained very popular throughout this time and were continued to be produced by the popular manufacturers.

The collectible toys from the 1990’s had brought in the introduction of military and public servicemen action figures. There had been a few military action figures and policemen and firemen action figure toys prior to the 1990’s but this is when the market really took off for these types of toys that are now considered collectibles. Little boys and girls all over the world would play with military soldiers, Indians, policemen, and firemen action figures for hours on end, or until supper time, that is.
